Cherry & Chocolate Cake Recipe
1 lbs of white cake mix (1 box)
2 cans of devided cherry pie filling (each can should be 21 oz)
2 lightly beaten eggs
1/3 cup of vegetable oil
2 tspns of pure vanilla extract
1 cups of chocolate chips
1/4 cup canned evaporated milk
2 tblspns of butter
1/2 tspn of vanilla extract
1 cup of fine powdered sugar
1. Preheat the oven to 350
2. Grease a 10x13 baking pan slightly and line it with some parchment paper; then set the pan aside.
3. Put the cake mix, 1 can of the cherry pie filling, eggs, vegetable oil, and the vanilla in a large mixing bowl. Mix them all until they are thoroughly combined.
4. Pour the cake mix into the pan we just prepared then bake it in the oven for 35 to 40 minutes, or you can test it the old fashion way by placing a toothpick in the middle and it comes out clean.
Note: Allow the cake to cool before frosting it.
For The Cherry Frosting:
Mix chocolate chips, butter,
and the vanilla in a bowl that can be placed in a microwave.
Heat for about 30 seconds
Remove the mixture from the microwave and whisk it until it is smooth.
Add the fine sugar to the mixture then continue whisking.
Spread the cherry frosting on the whole cake.
Add the second can of cherry pie filling to the top of the cake.
